The youth of Kosovo Informal Settlement in Philippi are the Stars of Today.
With the active support of community organizers such as foster mothers Thandi and MaZoe, the youth of Kosovo have mobilized one another for daily dance, drama and debate routines. Together, the young men and women practice self-developed plays on topics from HIV, sexual abuse, gender issues, issues of poverty and oppression, as well as lack of development in their communities. Their Sunday debate sessions have a similar focus on issues that are important to the lives of Kosovo's youth.
Meanwhile, Thandi and MaZoe get help from these same youth in fostering a number of children in their homes and running a daily community soup kitchen. They are there to make sure that future stars (the babies, children, and young teens) who are soon to join Stars of Today, remain safe, secure and well-fed.
