Help us fundraise

CHOSA was founded on the principle that “a lot of littles makes a big.” You may wonder what one person can really do to help, but we truly depend on every effort of our wonderful network of alumni and friends to raise money and awareness for CHOSA around the country. Our alumni and friends have organized events at bars, restaurants, community spaces, and even braais (barbeques) in their own backyards to raise funds for our various projects in South Africa. We’d love for you to join us!

Here are some ideas:

  • Host a gathering at your home, serving food and presenting materials about the work of CHOSA
  • Ask a local bar to host a “Cheers for CHOSA” event, where proceeds are donated to the work of CHOSA
  • Work with a local restaurant to get a certain percentage of profits donated to CHOSA on a particular night in exchange for your publicity
  • If you’re a college student, host a campus event – a variety show, dinner, movie night, or other event for your fellow students

The possibilities are endless! If you’d like to help organize an event, contact us and we will put you in touch with other alumni and/or friends of CHOSA in your city. We are here to support you in any way that we can! Please contact Jennifer at 617-651-0443 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. CHOSA's US-Based Partnerships

CHOSA has several partners in the United States who have helped us raise funds and awareness throughout the years. Current partnerships include:

The Anthem Group

The Anthem Group is a marketing, consulting, and event-planning company based in Boston, Massachusetts. Anthem's Founder and CEO, Chris Sinclair, became connected to CHOSA's work while living in Cape Town, South Africa, and has spearheaded a number of events to support the work of CHOSA, including the International Music Festival. IMF champions win an international tour, including performances and service work in CHOSA's partner communities. Most recently, Anthem has hosted a "Children Around the World" Charity Date Auction to benefit CHOSA, and on October 20th, "A True Work of Art" Silent Auction will take place at Boston's iconic Custom House (for more details, see events page).
