As seed funding to help the organization get off its feet, CHOSA has made two grants to Amandla EduFootball in 2007 and 2008. Since then, the organization has grown leaps and bounds: from its humble beginnings serving 150 youth, it now includes 7 different soccer leagues, and engages over 2,500 participants weekly.
Amandla provides educational soccer programs to children and youth in Cape Town who are identified as being at risk. Over the last four years Amandla has been providing services to youth in residential care and disadvantaged communities. Using soccer as a tool to educate children and provide a variety of Life-Skills, the organization strives to create young leaders and role models who influence their peers in a positive way.
